Rosemary infused oil is one of my favorite ways to use cuttings from my rosemary plants. Rosemary oil makes a fabulous base oil to massage sore muscles, backaches, and soothe arthritis pain. According to Dr. Duke's database rosemary contains the compounds rosmarinic acids, borneol, thymol and carvacrol, all which help relieve painful muscle spasms.
Rosemary also makes an absolutely fab hot oil hair treatment. Just massage a tablespoon or so into your scalp and hair, wrap your head in a warm towel, and relax for an hour. Shampoo as usual.
Essential oils of rosemary, thyme, sage and cardamom make a good pain relief blend. Add them to your base rosemary oil for a soothing muscle massage. If you do not have access to fresh rosemary plants then add these essential oils to organic olive oil in a 2 percent dilution.
