What is Bitter Orange Oil ?

Properties & Uses:

Bitter Orange essential oil varies in color from olive yellow to a pale brownish yellow. It is cold expressed from the peel of the fruit from the bitter orange tree. It's aroma is not like the other citrus oils due to a bitter citrus and woody overtone that is present along with the fresh orange scent.

Bitter orange has been known to treat digestive challenges, depression, inflammation, and is an astringent and antiseptic.

It blends well with many oils, and especially ginger, clary sage, black pepper, lavender, myrrh, vetiver, neroli, and the citrus oils. Add it to diffusers for its fragrance and to lighten the mood, or put in blends for massage, noting that is should be heavily diluted for sensitive skin.
